The Importance of Mentors & Sponsors

Mentors-and-Sponsorw.jpg

Recent research suggests that the notion that women need only to break through one glass ceiling on their career journey is no longer applicable. These same findings, taken from one thousand women between 18 and 60 years of age, also suggests that two thirds of respondents had or expect to encounter multiple barriers at different points along their career journey.

Career crossroads are key moments in the the working life of an aspiring and ambitious female manage. This is a time when being able to use a mentor as a sounding board,or a sponsor for backing, or a role model for inspiration is invaluable. But how do you and your organisation go about starting a mentoring panel? And, if you need a sponsor how do you approach someone?

Join us at this “The importance of mentors and sponsors event will reveal how other successful female leaders and their respective organisations have gone about this.

Who should attend:  Both men and women in the earlier stages of their management / leadership career.  Senior managers of both gender who have newly appointed managers reporting into you and who want to get a better understanding of mentoring and sponsorship so as to support your direct reports.

Creating A Culture of Inclusion

Creating A Culture of Inclusion

Culture-inclusion.jpg

The benefits of being an inclusive organisation are huge! Organisations with inclusive cultures are twice as likely to hit their financial targets, three times more likely to be top performing and eight times more likely to achieve better business outcomes.  Psychological studies have also shown that an inclusive culture is also likely to boost employee mental health and well being and in turn reduce turnover and absenteeism.

While more employers realize the importance of creating a diverse, inclusive company culture, building those elements into the workplace can be daunting if they’ve never been done before.  So if you are on that journey why not join us at this executive level event where our guest speakers will be sharing insight and experiences of their journey towards creating a culture of inclusion.

Who should attend:  This is a director level event. Senior leaders, both men and women, who are involved in building a more gender balanced and inclusive culture in their workplace.

Strategies for Increased Customer Engagement

Customer-Retention.jpg

In recent years, our member organisations have told us that approximately 65% of your annual sales revenue comes from your existing customer base. Customer focused organisations now see customer centricity and engagement as key factors in increasing customer loyalty and driving business growth. At the same time, customer behaviour (both B2B and B2C) is changing – they are more likely to engage with organisations who they trust and who are aligned with their own values.  Technology is also giving customers more control over how and when they engage with suppliers.  That said, the latest research suggests that Companies that excel in customer engagement—the leaders—are set apart by their engagement processes and measurement.   So how is your customer engagement strategy measuring up?

Join us at this Director Series event where our speakers will be sharing the latest insights around customer engagement and what it takes to drive ongoing interaction with your customer base.

Reinforcing Your Brand Along The Customer Journey

The-role-of-Social-&-Digital.jpg

Customers have changed how they research and buy products.  The vast increase of product choice, the explosion in digital channels, and the emergence of a better educated and more astute buyer is causing brands to look beyond the traditional FMCG marketing funnel for customer engagement touch points.  FMCG organisations are now looking to reinforce their brands at all stages of the customer decision journey using different technologies and media channels along the way.  Finding the best stages on the customer journey to reinforce and influence is now a key factor in brand activation and success.  But which technologies and channels are causing the best engagement along the customer journey?  Beyond in store activation activities – where is the battle for the hearts and minds of customers being won and lost?  And, what are the winning brands doing differently when using digital and social to reinforce their brands and drive customer loyalty?

Join us at this FMCG Director event where an international panel of speakers from Germany and the United States and Ireland will be sharing expert opinion, case studies and research findings in to what’s working best to reinforce brands with the FMCG customer of 2019.

Bots & Customer Care - The 2019 Realities

Artificial intelligence is redefining customer engagement standards in Irish based service hubs. Up to recent times, what customers ask of AI assistants has been very basic but that is all changing. Audio and Human-like AI technology will soon be driving even more individualized experiences as using voice recognition and natural language programming improves. Chatbots will become virtual agents, potentially with a face and a personality to match, and will provide an always-on - twenty-four seven services to your customers and sales targets. But these advances will also present a danger in the form of lost or redeployed jobs or even the risk of losing a personal connection with your customer base. So how are progressive organisations leveraging AI and bot technology in 2019? Join us at this Executive Institute “AI and Bots – The 2019 realities” event at Microsoft’s HQ in Ireland in Leopardstown where all will be revealed.

* Please note Microsoft will be providing a tour for attendees on the day. If you wish to attend the tour please select the ticket "Event and Tour" below. The tour will add an extra 30 mins to the timings (12pm Finish).

The Future of Payments

future-of-payments.jpg

The payments landscape is changing at pace, driven by the digital revolution and the customer's desire for an improved payments experience.  Many experts suggest that the Irish B2C payments marketplace is at a tipping point as consumers continue to gravitate towards faster, easier electronic payments methods, But how will the B2C payments market evolve over the next three to five years?  When might we see peer to peer payments via social media platforms?  Will cash payments in retail significantly die out?

What about B2B payments? How will the advent of e-payables, cryptocurrencies, virtual cards and same day automated clearing house options impact the way organizations invoice and collect monies owed?  What changes can we expect to see?

Join us at this ‘Future of Payment’s event where Philip Konopik, Country Manager, Visa, and Adam Kissane, Senior Manager, Payments, Deloitte will share how the 'Future of Payments' will evolve over the next three to five years.

Women In Leadership

wil.png

In recent years, progressive organisations have been focusing upon empowering women to take on more leadership positions and to activate their own potential. 2018 research suggests that women make up approximately 31.5% of senior management positions in Irish business. Whilst the situation is improving, women are still in a large minority and at a time when there has never been as many females at work. The benefits of having a more gender-balanced leadership team have been outlined in many research papers ranging from improved collaboration, innovation and staff retention right across to better financial organisational performance.

That said, trusting their own voice, standing by their own achievements and tackling imposter syndrome have been identified as some of the top challenges women face when in and seeking to be appointed to leadership roles. Join us at this Institute event where Patricia Hyland, Chief Wellbeing Officer at McNulty Performance ( a senior business leader in Ireland for over 25 years) and Dervilla O’Brien, MD and Founder of Healthbridge Technology (a C Level Director for 20 years) will explore the causes and possible actions that can be taken by women to find their voice and develop self-confidence to overcome barriers to women in leadership role success.

*We encourage both male and female members to attend this event as we are both part of the challenge and also the solution to gender equality in the workplace.

Sustaining a High Performance Culture

Sustaining a High Performance Culture

Having and then sustaining a high-performance culture is the ‘nirvana’ for most progressive organisations. Having a team of employees who contribute fully and to the best of their abilities means bottom line results improve, employees are more engaged and often staff retention gets better also. However, developing the culture in the first place and sustaining it over time is not easy. It takes trust, buy-in, collaboration, agility, innovation, resilience and great leadership communications to name but a few.

In this Munster Series Executive Institute event Hamish Adams, CEO of Athletics Ireland and Declan O’Connell, Performance Coach at Fortis Mentis Coaching will share insights and experts on developing and sustaining that high-performance culture. High-performance organizations do not take their culture for granted. They plan it, monitor it and manage it so that it remains aligned with they want to achieve. As Peter Drucker once said: Culture eats strategy for breakfast.

Sales Success Through Coaching

Sales Success Through Coaching

There’s a tendency for the conversations between a Team member and their Manager to be focused on performance, in effect, it’s managing. These conversations are essential since the Leader’s ultimate role is to support their Team to achieve results, hit goals, to help to ‘mind the gap’.

At the same time, the most effective route to improving performance is through coaching; it promotes thinking, decision-making, and enhances learning. It empowers the individual. To coach effectively requires questioning and listening skills in conjunction with a process, or flow to having conversations. In this ‘sales success through coaching’ session, John Fitzgerald, one of Ireland’s leading executive coaches and mentors will share insight and practical direction on how coaching can transform the performance of a sales team.
